Shoulder Shots

Describe how your group planned your shots. What realizations did you make about the kind of planning that needs to happen BEFORE you shoot?
At first we had everything planned out, but we had trouble setting up the shots because we all had to think things trough and take out time.

Look at the composition of your over the shoulder shots. Did you follow the rule of thirds? Why or why not?

Yes and NO. On Jaay's footage we did, but on mine we didn't. I don't really nkow why we didn't that is just how it ended up.

What IMPRESSIONS do the over the shoulder shots create about the characters? How does this work?

That they are having a conversation that is kind of serious, brings it down to thier level.
See things through "thier eyes".

How realistic does the dialogue seem in the final edit? What challenges did you have in editing?

Not so realistic. The script was kind of weird. BUT with the editing and the conversation it looked like it was a real conversation.

Is there a dominant mood or tone to your video? What is that mood or tone? How did you accomplish this?

Yes, a casual talk between friends. One is layed back through acting other is hyper and curious.

What other observations do you have about using over the shoulder shots?

I don't eally know how to answer this one...

What other ideas got emphasized or reinforced about how to make effective videos from doing this exercise?
You get INTO the conversation, as if you as seeing it right there and then from behind the charaters. You also get on thier level.
